Grumpy Goat Soaps
I met Meg, the woman who makes and sells ‘Grumpy Goats Soaps’ this summer (2024) at the Filberg Festival in Comox, BC. I purchased a few bars of her soap and took them home for my husband and I to try, and we soon called her for more! We had never bathed with such delicious soap! It is pure luxury. I recently asked Meg if I could make a small wholesale purchase of my favourites so I might share them with my customers:
'Greek Goddess' - a combination of White Grapefruit, Rose Geranium and Ylang Ylang essential oils - Topped with locally grown Calendula flowers!
‘Lavender’ - essential oil topped with locally grown organic Lavender buds.
‘Island Time’ - a blend of Bergamot & Lime essential oils, topped with locally grown organic Jasmine flowers.
‘Oatmeal & Honey’ (unscented) - made with local honey sourced on Vancouver Island and organic ground oats.
A little of Meg’s story:
…after much research, testing and development Meg found the perfect soap formula that could incorporate the steady supply of fresh goat milk from her farm into a natural soap product that would make her husband’s skin happy (he suffers from psoriasis)!
Grumpy Goat Soaps is based out of Black Creek, BC. Meg’s little soap studio is nestled amongst the trees close to the ocean, with the sound of her goats moving around, just feet away. She is inspired by nature: the garden, the herbs and flowers, the trees, the fragrances.
The soaps are made using the traditional cold process method, formulated with a variety of natural ingredients (sourced locally when possible) reputed for their amazing, skin-loving and aromatic benefits. Once the soaps are made and unmolded, they sit to ‘cure' for 5-6 weeks.
